Since 2001, Genie9 has worked on developing backup and security software for home and business PC users. The Genie9 products designed for home users are extremely simple and easy to use. According to Genie9, Genie Timeline Home is more than just a data-storage application, it is a feature-packed backup suite that manages to keep files safe without any fuss. Since Genie9 clearly has a lot of confidence in their products, we were extremely excited to test out Genie Timeline Home.
Setup
Timeline is simple to use. Install the program, select the destination for the data to be backed up (an entire drive or partition is required), select the files that you want to back up, and then just allow the program to do its stuff.
The program runs when it’s necessary which means when your files have been changed and your PC is idle. Genie Timeline Home 10 gets installed quickly and without any issues.
Backup
Genie Timeline Home 10:
– Back to the past with the timeline, you can restore the state of any file at a certain point in time.
– Backs up all your important data from your computer so you don’t have to.
– Backs up new and modified files; detects changes.
– Keeps versions to recover older or deleted files.
– Protects mobile data synced to your computer.
System performance
Where Timeline really shines is browsing backups for the data you want to restore. You may, of course, search by file name, but if you’re not sure which version you want or even whether that version exists, you may drag a slider back through time to check for files as granularly as half an hour. Most people can remember at least vaguely the last time they had a good copy of a file, so being able to scroll back through time can be exceedingly helpful.

Summary
From start to finish, Genie Timeline Home 10 is effective and easy to use. It guides users through the backup process and restores files in an intuitive manner. As an added bonus, this software does all of these things without draining system resources. However, Genie Timeline Home is not perfect. Advanced users may find this software’s lack of customization options a little frustrating. All things considered, Genie Timeline Home is an excellent piece of data-backup software, especially for novices.
